as for new technical stuff listen to trivium. some of their stuff is horrible but they have some pretty damn good songs like down form the sky and throes of perdition. also im guessing you already know them but children of bodom or sinergy.

for thrash idk the only thrash i listen to that i consider thrash is slayer metallica megadeth and suicidal tendencies and all of which im guessing you know

Thrash/grindcore pretty much the same, minus grindcore is a lot faster!

YouTube - Nasum - "Wrath" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g2pMFj5LNuM&1&fmt=18)
YouTube - NAPALM DEATH - When All Is Said And Done (OFFICIAL VIDEO) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SIRUzqHTNh8&1&fmt=18)
YouTube - Origin - Echoes of Decimation (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nDE6BXhyJRI&1&fmt=18)

Thrash
YouTube - Ritual Carnage - Death, Judgement, Fate (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KoKOpyUFiyU)

But this is the best Ritual Carnage cd and perhapes their best song
YouTube - Ritual Carnage - I, Infidel (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FS0acRMH27s&1&fmt=18)

YouTube - Therion "A Black Rose" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_TvA-9K9Wb4&1&fmt=18)
^Thats early through but I like the syth metal they do more then their thrash days.

YouTube - Sodom - Agent Orange (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L99pRH31-yU&1&fmt=18)
^Noone said Sodom? They know nothing of thrash for that!

YouTube - Venom - Welcome to Hell (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mE--ehEUg5I)

For the most part I don't like modern thrash but that Napalm Death song is pretty awesome, downloaded that album now. I took a cursory listen to Napalm Death in the past but for some reason I didn't get the same vibe

Napalm Death is still the bet grindcore band around they do more thrash sounding songs instead of their classic grindcore and death metal.

When I think of BTBAM, I really don't think of thrash, as much as calling them just Progressive metal may not help either, their music just incorporates a shitload of other stuff.

BFMV = Not exactly good
Rise Against = Great, if you're into punk/hardcore punk
A7X = Not exactly good
RJA = Somewhat good, not quite thrash metal :P
ETF = Their first album with Ronnie Radke(IMO), is AMAZING. Their second album however, is complete shit. Honestly, they shouldn't even have the name Escape the Fate any more because everything sounds so completely different. Just felt like replying because it irritates me how great that band used to be

Far from pure thrash, but newer Propagandhi albums definitely have a strong technical thrash sound to them. Check them out.
