wider decks = heavier
thinner decks = lighter

its all personal preference
most of my friends skate 7.75, one skates 7.5, i skate 7.75, but i skated an 8 and i like it better, so im about to start skating 8s

Purely preference.

thinner boards: easier to flip

wider boards: more stability and easier catch & landings

i am currently skating an enjoi 7.5 or , and what 50-50 cent says i think is truw, i was skating an 7.75 or 8 before and i could land my tricks easier and cleaner yet i had to put more force into flipping it
which is why i might go back to that size since i am usually overflipping a lot and not landing cleanly
you just gotta experiment
