So I picked up a new deck today. Its an AWS Salazar Soldier Deck, Its a 7.9http://c3.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images02/75/l_c5850eb830da40c6882f7ffb51b14b8a.jpg (http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.editAlbumPhoto&albumID=421526&imageID=7330517)
Its pretty nice and all. Nice shape, pretty light and mellow concave. But the pop isn't that great. Did anyone else find this with their AWS's or is it just me not being used to the deck yet?

They use the same wood as habitat, if you've had one before you would know that the pop gets really good after you wear through the first two plies.

it's in your legs so it's rather the response isn't that good, the tail and nose might be not your preference, or you may not be trying enough(no offense).

Nah, none taken. It may be true anyway. The first session was after 7 hours of sleep and then 4 hours of tennis anyway.

I guess you can tell I haven't had one before.

I hope either of these are the case or I really wasted $128.95(AUD)

i can agree with you to a point but could you explain to me why when a board gets waterlogged or soggy even popping as hard as i can it still doesnt get high

all new decks have pop unless the are waterlogged. honestly there is no such thing as pop, just wood quality and shape. AWS has very good wood in my opinion but they have a shape that needs getting used to if you are used to mellow concave decks and small noses and tails.

so pop doesnt exist but stiffness makes the board snappy and get tricks high? so my board is soggy and doesnt have much "pop" because its not stiff right?
