Is it your iPod because you have to have the ipod set to your library or you cant change the songs. Either that or go into iTunes preferences and its somewhere in there.

What? Do you mean when you're updating? You cna't delete or manage songs without using iTunes. If you want to delete a song/playlist or song from a playlist, do it in iTunes, then update the playlist. Just click the iPod logo on the bottom right when updating and click the playlists that you want to update onto your iPod.

Happened to me and started working again randomomly after about a week. It happened after my sister got an iPod and installed a version of iTunes that wasn't assigned to my iPod.

while it's updating? you can't edit it while it's updating. only before and after.

Hahaha you actually bought an iPod? They're only worth the misery if they're free! My advice, get a Creative Zen Micro or MicroPhoto. They're bad-ass.
