you obviously know very little about economics...
if they didn't move there prices would be even more expensive, and for the most part its our own fault they move...

Go to a television store and look at the TVs that are made in your and the ones that are made in China. The ones from your country are a lot more expensive. These companies aren't only benefitting themselves, but they're benefitting you.

If your board was made in U.S it would cost 3 times as much. But since its made in China or Tiwan or some third world shity country it costs less.(CHEAP LABOR)

have you noticed that every company makes their stuff overseas pretty much? the computer your using rigt now was made overseas! sure the people are getting paid $1 an hour but a dollar is a lot more over in taiwan. the working conditions could be a lot better, but you can blame nike for that. so have fun hating virtually every company in america.

It would be great if, when complaining about thir world countires who need the extra damn dollar more than us, you would atleast spell the country's name correctly. "Taiwan"

Interestingly enough, I'm actually writing a research paper for my English paper involving the effect of economics and the music/clothing industries on trends and how society is divided as a result. It's simple economics at stake when it comes to outsourcing- make it as cheap as possible, you get more profit. Cheap labor is one of the easiest ways of doing this.

yes but most people are missing the thin about it. its not "cheap labor" its slave labor. littel kids are in sweatshops in inhumane condition making shoes.

If it was slavery, they wouldn't be getting paid and they wouldn't be allowed to quit.

What about companies like Nike that have sooo much money, that has there shoes made overseas for about 5 dollars a pair, sells them for about 100 dollars, and only pays the workers 10 cents an hour (I'm not certain of that wage, I just know it's low). They could easily afford to pay their workers more.
There may be things made overseas because it's the only way for a company to survive, but companies like Nike only do it to get more money. Also, paying 100 dollars for a pair of Nikes shoes that costed 5 dollars doesn't seem to be passing the saving to the customer. The company that makes the school uniforms for my school (Schoolbells) also does the same thing. They use sweatshop labor to get the shirts very cheap, and still over price them. They also force us to wear ONLY School bells uniforms at school (I've gotten a detention for his before).

"If the workers strike, move the factory to a different country. If those workers strike, so will the death squads."
It's not America. They might technically have the right to quit, but the ones who do usually end up in a ditch somewhere.
And a lot of the workers overseas are not documented, they're literally slaves paying off debts or smuggling fees on their way to the West.

it takes 5 cents to pay a worker making a "Motorola RAZR" phone, and 5 cent to get all of the parts to make it. yet they sell them for 100$ and more. its a scam to get more money. and those children that are working over there are slaves, becuase if they quit then they will end up sleeping in a dumspter

There's more to it than that. You have to pay the people that make the chips, you have to pay the people that mine to get the crystals to make the chip, you have to pay the people that make the plastic, and you have to pay for the mass shipping into the U.S., etc.
There's to it than what you think.
