That's with the 15% VAT tax included. That gets taken off when you order if you live in the US. Shipping is about $20. And you can use a 5% discount code from the internet. I used the code TRAVELEX. As you can see, it's cheap as fuck considering it's a new player.

I also got this case for it because I don't want to damage the screen.

1GB - 10

Does me fine, sound quality is a little lacking compared with my old player (Creative Nomad Jukebox from about 10 years back...), but does me fine.

I've thought about getting a Sansa player, they look pretty trick, fairly rugged as well.

Let me guess, 16gb player + 8gb SD card?

<3 Fuze and Clip

EDIT: Vivica, if you get a Sansa, only get a Fuze or Clip. The other models are lacking in sound quality. The Fuze and Clip, on the other hand, are practically treading into audiophile territory if you're using the right headphones and high bitrate MP3s (or FLAC, but that takes up more space).

8 gig player, 2 8 gig cards

but, I have 13/16 gigs filled right now, so the other card is a backup, but a total of 24 gigs

I love sansa, I've had an e260 for about 2 years, but 4 gigs just wasn't enough.

With the cost of the case and the cards, I spent 125 dollars.

125 for an extremely reliable player, and holds more than a standard ipod that is more expensive.

I was thinking of getting one of the e200 series players back when my car had a tape player and i could plug it into that.
However now i've crashed it... and the new car only has CD's, i don't really see the point of getting a new player, especially as i don't really spend that much time listening to music that's not either on a radio or my computer.

When i do get one its going to be a toss up between Sansa and Creative, purely on the basis that Sansa seems to be the best option at the moment (for those of us who realise how inferior iPods are), and because my old Creative Jukebox (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/0/0f/Creative_Nomad_Jukebox_(DAP).jpg/800px-Creative_Nomad_Jukebox_(DAP).jpg) was PROPERLY awesome.

Creative hasn't really done anything interesting lately in terms of sound. That player they have with X-Fi, while the effect does make the music more "enjoyable", it adds a sort of haze over the whole thing and is a bit gimmicky. I'd personally go with one of the two Sansa powerhouse players.

I actually have yet to put a video on it, because, my e200 had an mp4 converter, but my fuze doesn't, and I've yet to look for a good one that's free on the internet, so I really can't answer. But, from what I have seen of the e260's screen, it's alright. For a small screen, it isn't too bad. The fuze has a stock video on it, and I watched it, and it seemed decent, what I would expect from the player. I just use it for music mainly, if I go on a long trip, I'd load one of the cards with movies maybe.

fuqq da kowenz

1) overpriced
2) sound quality is lacking on most if not all of them
3) gimmicks galore which allows them to ignore more necessary features, such as longer battery life, better sound quality, better screen resolution, wider codec support, etc.
4) screen resolution is lacking in comparison to similar players that are actually good
5) really shitty driving power for higher-end headphones
6) proprietary software
7) way overhyped as being "the best", when in reality they're probably somewhere near the lower middle end

I could go on.

And what do you mean, "fuqq da kowenz"?

Im thinking about getting the new sony mp3 player seeing as they sorted out there terrible software and finally discovered that drag and drop is the way.
I just got one, and IMO the software still kind of sucks. The player itself is fucking awesome, and works perfectly with ps3 unsurprisingly, but I just find the media manager to be a real cunt, it's hard to even explain, it does wierd things, and if you want to drag and drop like hundreds of songs at once to fill it up it takes ages and you can't even leave it because it will inexplicably "pause" the task and just stop, then you have to try and work out which songs were successfully transferred and there's no easy way of telling. It's a pretty significant pain in the ass and hopefully they'll bring out a better media manager.

I really liked itunes, all my friends say it sucks but I don't get it, I just find it so easy to use, really perfect, and I like subscribing to free podcasts but fucks me how I will do it with the sony.
I do hate how itunes/ipod make things impossible to use on other things, like ironically it's the songs I paid for from the istore that won't work on my sony walkman, talk about encouraging people to steal.

Personally, I use Exact Audio Copy, LAME MP3 Encoder, and an MP3 tag editing program to transfer my files and re-tag the ones that have weird or non-existent tags, but if you want something easy to use, those are NOT what you're looking for.

Any electronic device has a good chance of breaking when you drop it, that's nothing new. I've never held an ipod that doesn't have some type of problem. The battery "ran out" on my ipod classic after like a year. I replaced the battery with one from ebay, and that ran out 6 months later. My brothers Nano battery lasts about 2 hours. Nah I just dropped it once it didn't even far that far. I don't feel like sending it in to fix or buy the right screw driver to fix. The wire thing got disconnect thats all. But iPods Ive dropped a ton of times that the back is scratched to hell and back and it still works.

Nah I just dropped it once it didn't even far that far. I don't feel like sending it in to fix or buy the right screw driver to fix. The wire thing got disconnect thats all. But iPods Ive dropped a ton of times that the back is scratched to hell and back and it still works.

I only like the zune for the bigger screen and making pictures backgrounds other then that I like iPods better. Zunes aren't that loud and the EQ on them suck, when I listen to rap I want to hear the bass more and zunes just don't do that (I don't feel like buying head phones with subs in the ear piece)

You've just lost your argument. The Zune EQ does suck, but the iPod EQ has been proven time and time again to be one of the absolute worst in the industry. It produces an audible haze, veils untampered frequencies, and produces a ridiculous amount of distortion. If you honestly think the Zune EQ is worse than the iPod EQ, you're either deaf or an absolute fanboy that doesn't know what he's talking about.

Sorry to butt in, but this argument is officially over between you two. I'm sick of seeing the two of you bitch at each other all the time.

EDIT: And by the way, Sirens are horrible unless your hearing is damaged.

Me and Valo seem to argue a lot, but we agree from time to time too. I have nothing against him at all, probably same towards me, it's just we have very conflicting views a lot of the time..

No hate on this side of the screen man. We just base our personal prefernce which is 99 out of 100 times conflicted. Zune does have a lot of great features that iPods don't have, wifi, free radio, music sharing (but the idea you can only listen to songs someone sent you 3 times is dumb), and like I said bigger screen and custom backgrounds are great.

If the Siren had an 80gb mp3 player and allowed pictures I would go with that one over everything.

Distortion? Must be your headphones man, my NDR series headphones have NONE at all. The MDR-V150s have a deeper bass sound, but has no distortion but the bass drowns out the vocals. The MDR-NC7s don't have a lot of bass unless I set the volume limit to the lowest setting and use the bass booster EQ, even then the vocals are as loud then the bass.

It's widely known that the iPod EQ distorts like hell. If you can't hear it, either your hearing has been damaged from blasting your music or playing guitar, or your headphones actually do have distortion and you don't know what undistorted music sounds like coming from headphones. It's likely a combination of the two. Even multi-hundred dollar headphones have a tiny bit of distortion, and the MDR-NC7 and MDR-V150 are shit compared to those high-end 'phones (which means they likely both actually have quite a bit of distortion). What it is is you're probably not hearing certain frequencies as well as other people, so you can't hear the distortion in those frequencies, and it sounds perfect to you. The Zune's EQ is way better than any iPod EQ, though. You might not like it in comparison to the iPod EQ for some odd reason, but the fact remains that pretty much everything beats the iPod EQ.

You do know what distortion through headphones sounds like, right?

Debating is fun as long as no one gets emotional about it.
