Why is it noone in canada has canadian pride? If you [insert nationality] everyone's like hell yeah but if you ask someone if they have canadian pride they say "hell no", I mean were you're only in canada... Bastards.. Don't get me wrong I have no problem with people showing there pride for there home country but when they just diss the country they are in and tottally are oblivious to that it's irritating.

What do we have...
We have more of an international recognition of not being intrusive cocks.
"Free" healthcare owns your medical system.
Our country's diverse citizens aren't stripped of their ethnicity when they move here, instead of turning into a straight "American" (Will Ferrel puts this stupid thing perfectly - "You're in America now, you're American!")
Internationally recognized as being more well mannered and approachable (check out travelling in Europe, yes, Europeans can tell apart faux-Canadians priding Canadian flag patches from the real Canadians just by the character being displayed)
I work at the airport restaurant/cafeteria in my province's capital, besides the British, every American I've encountered in my 8 month employment has been rude, messy, ignorant (just stupid... ex] *big sign above recycling* NOT A GARBAGE CAN, GARBAGE GOES HERE >>>> *arrow to garbage can*... American walks up to recycling, reads slackjawed at the sign, shifts view to the circular opening meant for say, plastic bottles, looks back up at sign, continues to shove garbage into the circular recycling opening) obnoxious, and inconsiderate.
I'm sure there are alot of nice, smart, tolerable Americans, but from my experiences, most can generally suck my cock.

You're using the term "free" too freely. Free would imply that you don't pay for but in fact you do with your socialistic taxes. Why would anyone pride themselves for being socialists? Here in the USA, if I don't want to pay for health care I don't have to whereas in Canada the government just snips it from your paycheck! Now there's something to be proud of :-D As for the internationally recognized as being well mannered.... well to be quite honest, Canada isn't internationally recognized. Period. Wow, well that certainly was a nice way to show some of Canada's self proclaimed "good manners". At the end of the day if Canada actually had a lot to offer then all of these successful Canadians who have moved here wouldn't have moved here in the first place. Mmmmmmk buh bye

Alright, to prove my point:
My girlfriend went to Italy.
She went to buy a leather jacket.
2 people were in there, her and another american dude.
Guess who got thrown out...
That's right, the american dude. Why? because all he was doing was using his southern drawl to diss the craftmanship. After that asshole was forced to leave, the lady said "You'd have to be Canadian" to her because she recognized of polite, signature Canadian, manner. Side to side, a Canadian and an American citizen would handle a similar confrontation differently.
We support eachother within our health care system, which I'd much rather do, socialist or not.
Canadians are internationally recognized for being peaceful, the United States on the other hand can't be spoken for that way, the whole "we rule all (unfortunately pretty much true, not for the better), blow shit up" reputation will remain this way.
I can speak the same way for American's coming to Canada, like my b30 english teacher from the deep south and a present fellow employee from Utah, both have used the word "flee" when talking about their move from the U.S. to Canada.
"mmmmk buh bye"

A little bit of history then since someone wanted to know something cool...
The only nation to successfully terrorize the Whitehouse and burn it to the ground was, god forbid, Canada during the War of 1812 (British Empire soldiers), woot?

Yea yea yea, it's always these "true" stories when talking to people online. Nice story telling though tough guy. Yup, that certainly is socialism! Be proud:-L Like I said, Canada's not internationally recognized, PERIOD. Again, nice story telling tough guy. If you look at statistics there are actually more Canadians living here in the US than vise versa. I find it slightly hilarious that Canadians are still, to this date, trying to pride themselves after something that they didn't even do. Goes to show how much Canadians have to pride themselves after. Despite what most Canadians would like to believe it was actually the British. Nice try though :-D It was actually us (Americans) who burned down something of yours. We burned down York, now known today as Toronto:banana:. Ok mmmhmm have a nice day k bye.

Being proud of the geographical location wherein you were born is just stupid. Patriotism leads to nationalism which in turn proceeds to fascism.

How am I being a tough guy? I don't see a problem being proud of my homeland. you asked and chose me to be an american prick to, if you don't remember quoting my post and nit-picking it apart for the sake of argument. what, did you think I wouldn't see it or wouldn't respond? Canada is part of the british empire, regardless of the dates between the war of 1812 and becoming part of the empire in 1867, canadians being part of this british empire have no problem claiming we burned down your prided whitehouse. this isn't a thread for americans, just like iraq and afghanistan, get the fuck out.
