My band (http://myspace.com/dissonancepunk) just self-recorded a song, called "Year and a Half."
It's one ofo ur oldest songs, but we just got around to recording it. Feedback would be nice.

Keep in mind that this was self-recorded with a $60 mixer plugged into a laptop, and mixed with Audacity.

And yes, it does sound like there's two basses...on the guitar track, it sounded a little bassy and we couldn't figure out how to get rid of that without compromising the sound quality.

Change your name, there's got to be a million bands called Dissonance.

That's why you don't mix in Audacity, hahah. A decent sequencer would be a good investment.

pretty good song, especially considering you self recorded

Audacity is a pretty powerful program if you know how to use it properly.

Audacity is a pretty powerful program if you know how to use it properly.

You can do alot with Audacity if you have the time and effort available to do so, but you can also do all that and more faster/easier in a professional sequencer like Cubase or Logic. I also found on my old PC (haven't used it since) that audio tracks would go out-of-sync in playback and mixdown.

I like that bass. It reminds me of Op Ivy, but then again, all Ska reminds me of Op Ivy. The vocals aren't that great. But it's a really good song.

Green Day doesn't deserve half the shit they get. They're a good band.

Sit on my lap and let's pretend we're driving along a bumpy road.

Any more feedback?

I dig it. the sound wasn't horrible. And the vocals sound familiar I can't put my finger on it though. but I liked it a lot.

nothing groundbreaking... there was a twinge in the bass at the beginning when it was by itself, I'd fix that if you can but not a big deal. The end is sort of abrupt in a weird way.

Also your singer can't sing at all, but I guess that fits in with the style of music you're going for. A lot of old school punk/etc bands couldn't sing for shit.

For what it is, though, it's good, and fun to listen to.

This would be so sick.
If I liked punk.
Or Ska.

It sounds better than a lot of kid's shit, though, so props on that.

i liked it a lot actually. the vocals were a little sketchy, but for the type of music, it suits it. i like the riff a lot though.

New video of our show on January 22nd with Take It Back and Wrench in the Works from Facedown Records.

The song is called "Out of Time" and is by far the poppiest thing we play, but I like the song. How about you?

No offense, but that sounds awful, the same as every teen punk band. And you should tell your guitarist to fix his fucking strap because he looks like a godamn monkey.

EDIT: the video
