i can squish them down enough so that i can but the nut on the kingpin

First of all you didn't really have to change out the bushings until they wore out because if you have actually skated Indy's you would know that their bushings are not "douche", which isn't even proper use of the word.

the new bushings are meant to be taller, so they're hard to get on. rub them on your griptape so they get smaller, then put them in. or get your dad to do it. just dont tighten them all the way down, or they WILL break straight away.
if your bushings keep breaking because you tighten them down too much, you're the dousche for buying indy's, because indy's are meant to turn. try venture or tensor, because they dont turn from the start.

Wow, the bushings are "douche". I like your vocabulary lol. You probably didn't even give the time to break in yet.

Tell those bushing that they are "douche" and they will know what is up. Anyways, you probably were arrogant and expected to break them in on the first hour.
