I'm not talking tabs, I'm talking with a bar line, measures, and a time signature.

I've noticed people here are pretty good musicians, I'd just like to see who here can read notes. For any instrument, I suppose.

Yep. I take pride in being able to read sheet music, tabs and drum music (though I don't play).
I play piano, alto sax and used to play clarinet, but I'm also a self-taught guitarist, and am teaching myself the accordion (yes, really!).

Same here, depending on the difficulty of it, but most things I can sight read.

But, it comes from playing the piano since I was really little, and being diligent with it.

Same. I started piano when I was 6, but my family is pretty musical.

I can read tabs and notations. I'm intermediate at tabs and beginner at notation. Taking a guitar class.

I can partially. If I take a look at the books my guitar teacher gave me the first 2 years when I started playing, I could relearn all of it. But I only got to like book 4 out of like... who knows how much. Pretty basic reading though.

Accordion? haha sick. I play that too lol.

I'm grade 4 on piano and I study music so I know a lot when it comes to looking at notation or dynamics and shitz.

I can read tabs for guitars and I've tried learning drum notation but I much rather figure drumming and guitar out by ear, it's pretty easy.

timpani is so fun to play. easy to read too. it sucks when you have to change key right in the middle of songs though.

I know what the stuff means but I can't read it quickly. I voted no because for all practical purposes I can't.

I used to be able to, but I haven't since I played the sax in high school. I still know what all the notations are, but note names elude me.

Timpani isn't all that heard to read. Mostly it's just bass stuff, to keep the band on tempo.

I can read rhythm, but not pitch. I would learn it if I wanted to focus more on conventional piano playing.

I'm losing the ability to :/ I learned a few years ago when I was learning how to guitar but I quit almost a year and a half ago. My bro's taking piano/some keyboarding thing so I can always have him try to help me haha, we'll see how that works out.

riskit riskit riskit... sight reading is where the skill is at, silly.

Really though, I had a kid in my percussion class who could play music just fine. His form was good, and he was good with dynamics. However, he couldn't read music to save his life. When we would get a new piece the percussion teacher would have to work with him forever to get him to be able to play. He messed up during performances numerous times.

Yeah I can read notation and sheet music very well, time signatures, all keys, etc. I do have some problems I'm not pro at it but I'm not bad at least.

It's not hard at all.

If you aren't doing it since the age of two I'll take your word with optimism. I haven't even tried in a looong time, as soon as I have some more free time I'm learning them, I have so much in my head that needs to fly out and into eternal grooveness.

Don't be so prideful. In all truthfulness, you're probably not all that superior.
