FF issues discussion.

The filming assignments are great. It's good to see this is getting started, maybe it'll encourage more people to join SBC. In any case, I think it still needs more spicing up. We should do some assignments that are non-skateboarding or loosely skateboard related. Filming skateboarding is great, but filming has many more possibilities. It'd be great for the forum to have a wider spectrum.

I tried the short film idea, it failed. How about a micro documentary, music video, blog, etc? Or maybe even clips of daily life. Something different, that hasn't been done, or is rarely done. I know this is a skateboarding forum, but who says it has to be only that?

I really want to do an assignment on capturing urban life or something like that. It'd be cool.

Also, whats with everyone going and getting VX's? (I mentioned this in a previous thread, but I don't want to hijack it) Like, seriously. Take the time to get things down first. Everyone seems to be in the mindset that they are really good. Filming for a few months is nothing, even a year really isn't long enough to be ready for a VX. Some members have just gotten into filming and are already thinking that they need a VX. What I'm trying to say is, you don't need a VX. Learn things properly first.

For the immature members that somehow found out how to turn their camera on, I don't care how much you say I suck at filming. I know I don't. Not trying to be cocky. :p I'm just saying this if someone goes in the ""You suck!" mode after the second half of the post.

uh...idk what an FF is..but i know what ur talkin about when you mentioned the VX cameras. its ridiculous. im not a bad filmer, but i dont think i deserve a $1000 camera either. I have a decent 1 and its fine with me...

and i might consider doing the "day in the life" film. it'll give me somethin to do

Ive been filming for a year now.

Ive been stuck on this small camera, and honestly. Im depressed with it.

I would rather have a vx because theres soo much more options, and you can get amazing colors out of the series.

I know how to work a sony handycam easily.

And an other camera as well now.

People Know I film good stuff. So im ready.



as for the others. I dunno about there background story.

I mean vertskater....I dont think hes even a filmer really.

I agree with the VX thing. NOT ALL but alot of kids are posting threads "Hey I am ordering my VX today." then "How do you turn this on and how do you set it up and how do you capture footage?"

Nah not, really. I just think it sucks when a camera isn't used to it's potential. I know it takes time to adapt. Just because someone has adapted doesn't mean that they are worthy of calling their self a filmer. I know I'm not good enough to call myself that. I've got a hell of a lot to learn.
