I just really don't understand why people hate Element. BESIDES BAM MARGERA, why do their boards suck? I've looked on a bunch of threads about this, and everyone says their boards suck, but NEVER give a reason. Besides, if their boards are horrible, why are they critically acclaimed and have an AWESOME skate team? I'm thinking about buying one just out of curiosity, so I need to know.

I hate element, but bam is cool.
Element boards feel soggy, have a weird shape, and its hard to get a good flick off the nose of their decks.
Back in the day though(2001-2003?) their decks were amazing.
The best decks in the industry right now are toy machine, alien workshop or anti hero imo.

the concave is fine to me. the the tail and nose flatten out very quickly. my main issue, is that mine had pop for the first uhh, 5 minutes. after that, it felt all soggy and weak.
people do have reason to be ragging on element. they're only "up-to-par" decks are ridiculously priced because they try and use all of this "next generation of skateboarding" shit.
element sux lol.

I've tried my friends Element and it was okay. Element is one of those brands that a lot of people get just to act like a skater because they think its cool and want attention. (though not always the case) That is why I will not ever get Element or DC's, theyre just too mainstream.

It depends on the deck and on your preference. When I first skated, my freind's element deck was pretty awesome. His new one was cheap (that's why he bought it) and I'm not liking it. It feels heavy.
A lot of people starting skating end up with element because element is smart and have a lot of marketing. Everywhere where I shop, element comprises of 50% of the decks (they aren't many true skating shops here, just surf/skate/clothing etc). Its not hard to think element as a great brand if thats the case.

I was referring to the decks, if you misunderstood, my bad, if you read one of my previous posts you would of realized that I said the decks do NOT mess up my skating, i just hate skating something that feels like a sponge when you pop it.
Ive skated a lot of decks, probably 100 or more if im not mistaken, ive been skating for 4 and a half years, ive pretty much tried every deck there is to try, and I know which ones break easily, have the most pop, best shape, ect.
Im just gonna say now that elements dont hold up, its really not my opinion either, its a fact.
There are only 3 boards that have never snapped on me, maybe cracked because of the crazy shit I try sometimes, but never snapped, those three decks would be anti-hero, toy machine and foundation.
You should really try tum yeto, dna dist, or dlx dist boards if you want to try something worth your 50$ otherwise you might as well buy blanks, because nothing even comes close to these decks.
Element is just a gimmick of what a skateboard company should be.

Element is just a gimmick of what a skateboard company should be. Well, I didn't try crazy shit on my element, but it had some good pop though. The only reason it ever broke is because I sold it to my friend (who was well known for breaking boards, and at time I was unaware of this unfortunate fact.) so I guess it's durability is questionable. Element does contribute to the skating community, you have to give them that, so they're doing one thing right. I'll probably get a toy machine then, if only I could find that god forsaken skate shop that this one guy at the skatepark was talking about. What do you think about Zero?

For some odd reason though people call it a skatepark, even though it's like 1/3 the size of a walmart parking lot (I'll put up pics of the "skatepark" tomorrow). The skateship is in some italian town nearby, I forget the name, but I know it's there somewhere, but due to my bad italian and unfamliarity to the town itself, it's probably going to take a long time to find it. I'm mos def going to get a Black Label, or a Toy Machine, if I ever find that skateshop because i'm not going to buy it over the internet.

I skated Element back in 1998-2001. Then I stopped skating 'til 2007. I can honestly say that I love the shape and the pop of a new Element deck. The Featherlites suck, they break way too easily. Never skated a Fiberlight. Heliums have the same problem as a Featherlight...but their decks just feel right to my feet and I can afford to buy a new one whenever I want so that isn't a problem. I love the lightness of their hi-tech decks so I just bought an Element Push. I'm going to see if it will keep it's pop and maybe post a review.
Does anyone know another skate co. that makes decks that feel similar to an Element?

i hate how element tries to be everything and can't develop it's own style. if you take a look at it's shirts, there are so many GANGSTA designed graphiti ones but then there are all these emo ones, and regular ones, and i dunno, it just tries so hard. sure it has a pretty good team but trying to make shoes too is pathetic as most of them suck anyway. if you look at all the other boards, they have a distinctive feel to them and they have a distinct style. like toy machine with their monster art and habitat with its nature stuff, and alien workshop with....its aliens and cool patterns. but element has none of that distincness. its boards feel soggy, and yeah they really have no pop. they are heavy and the nose/tail are radically different in size. so no style and no quality = fail.
