Yeah dude, I have a few, I have a regular carving board and a big cruiser, and I have a Landyachtz dh race complete, which is so fun.
Get one for sure, they're fun.

I'm gonna get one from zumiez, but the nearest one is 45 minutes away. How much does a complete usually cost?

DEFINATLY don't get one from zumiez.
skatesonhaight.com
daddiesboardshop.com
landyachtz.com
those are some of the better sites to get a board from.
They may seem pretty expensive but that's just the way it is, you want a nice board, you gotta pay up.
Trust me, you wont regret getting a nice board instead of some peice of shit longboard from zumiez.
EDIT: if you wanna get some info on longboards from some experts, go to silverfishlongboarding.com

Get the following on it:
Bearings: Ballistech Missiles
If you want the spacers go for them, but it's not a must for a carving board, expecially if you're just startign to learn the basics on a longboard.
Trucks: Randall R-2 180mm
Wheels: Abec11 grippins 78a
Perfecto.

I have:
Custom made deck 9.5x39 or something
Paris 180 trucks
Kryptonics Route 70s 70mm 78a
Boss Swiss Bearings
And I think Minilogo grip, not that it matters.
