K, so my guitar now sucks ass, it has lancewood printed on the head in times new roman. It sounds like shit.

Anyways i want a decent upgrade nothing amazing just a solid guitar.
I listen to metallica ALL the time. And my friend says they rock ESP.
And there is a ESP on special from $800 to $429 NZ.
NZ to US is like .8 something, so arounf $300 ish US

Should i get this one?

You'll find guitar/guitar gear prices vary a lot from the US compared to AUS/NZ.
The guys in the US have it easy, and can get fairly good gear for quite cheap, especially in regards to amplifiers.

Anyway, I digress, I highly suggest you pop into the shop and test out the guitar (and the exact guitar) you're interested in. Only you know what feels and sounds good to you, and I find a guitar is a very personal choice. Two exact same models can play completely differently.

Depending on the model, an ESP for $300NZ is a pretty good deal I'd say. But play it to find out if it's for you.

How arn't they real?

Anywayz, Its actually $400 NZ which is okay. BTW my current electric guitar was $100 NZ with guitar, 10W amp, strings +spare, so it basiacly sucks.

Thanks yuckfou, ill test it out a bit.
In my mind a guitar you fucking love the look of will make you play better, thats my thoughts.

Anyone else got any tips.

Oh I forgot.
So basically, it's an Ibanez Iceman.
Its body is made of mahogany, Rosewood finger/fret board, stock pick-ups, 3-piece maple neck and etc.
Search it up.

I don't know, I just don't like Schecters....They sound like shit.
And the artists sponsored by Schecter are also shit.

You'll certainly want to play a nice looking guitar more often than one you think is ugly, however do not let this be your only consideration.
It's a fine balance, but try to find an axe which you think is sexy as hell, but also sounds how you think a guitar should sound.

Everyone always associates Schecter with Avenged Sevenfold, so I don't blame you.

Ibanez ftw, just because CoB and Metallica rock ESP now, Metallica didn't back then, and I've seen Alexi use Jacksons alot.

Jacksons and Ibanez are win.

I would say Ibanez is more versatile and such, but if you're going to be play strictly metal get a Jackson.

i've also heard that ibanez and jackson are great choices if you're playing metal. i've got an ibanez right now and it works well with metal. looking to get an epi les paul soon though. it will suit my needs a lot better.

Is it true when I heard the Ibanez RG series floyd roses don't keep tune? This goes for anyone owning one/knowing about it.

And Jackson is the way to go with metal.

Who wants to just play metal? Get a Ibanez or a Schecter for some all round good tones.

If one really wants to play versatile, then he should go for Les Paul. Ibanez is very shreddish in my opinion.

I find Les Pauls too dark and heavy sounding for use on lighter songs, mainly because of the mahogany and humbucker configuration. For versatility I believe a Fender Strat or Ibanez RG with a HSS or HSH pickup configuration is the best idea.
