I'm getting into guitar again, and, I have list of stuff I'd think would be pretty cool to use. I haven't ordered it yet, and, I'd like to know you're guy's opinion on it.

Give me some suggestions or your opinons on what I hope to order. If you guys don't like it, give me some suggestions. All is appreciated.

1. dont get a guitar with "goth" in the title. iepiphones sound pretty good, though.

2. the amp is okay unless you're playing a lot of rock/metal. distortion sucks.

3. get a digitech pedal.

I changed the guitar and pedal, because of a recommandation from my friend.

What kind of amp should I get? I mostly play rock and metal.

orange are absolutely amazing, not really a starter amp :P

1. Lower end deans don't have a good reputation.
2. (no experience with the rage 158)
3. I would never buy a pedal with a genre name in its title, they tend to be shit.

I'll recommend some other things if you give me your genres you play and your budget.

If you're getting into guitar again, you must already have guitar equipment... don't buy new gear. No offense, but if you quit before, you'll probably wind up quitting again. I would just use the guitar equipment you already have.

I'm pretty sure if he's just starting again, he doesn't need a $1,000+ setup.

Guitar:
http://img3.musiciansfriend.com/dbase/pics/products/6/7/8/457678.jpg
Ibanez ADD120. What I'm playing right now. Extremely underrated guitar, plays absolutely wonderfully, has great distortion tone and a nice, bassy clean tone.

http://img3.musiciansfriend.com/dbase/pics/products/0/3/6/461036.jpg
Ibanez RG2EX1. Another nice guitar for the price. To be honest, I much prefer the ADD, but is still an extremly nice guitar for the price.

Thanks guys, I changed my opinion with the Amp, I'm getting the amp jpharaoh recommended, and now, I'm trying to decide between the Dean, or the Ibanez. I play an Ibanez bass, and it plays really well, but, I've been getting good reccommandations from my friend about Deans. I don't know which to choose.

id definitely go with an ibanez over a dean. to me theres nothing special about a dean at all. the necks arent very good and the sound is average. keep it between the one i posted (RG321) and the second one reptiskate posted (RG2EX1). the only differences are the pickups and wood. the RG321 is made of mahogany so it will givve a deeper darker tone than the RG2EX1 which is made of a lighter and brighter sounding basswood. as for the pickups, since the RG2EX1 has active pickups it will produce a harsher distortion while the RG321 will produce a cleaner smoother clean sound.

and good choice with the roland lol. you wont regret it, trust me.

Get over it. They make decent guitars, you just don't like how they look.

I took your advice on it. Now, I have to go to Guitar Center and try them both out.

If I could go out and buy a new guitar I would get a ESP EC-1000 Cherry Red.

And right now I play a Line 6 Spider III.Its the shit and you should get it.

Considering how most of their affordable guitars are made of agathis, I think not.

Who gives a shit whats its made out of? I'd rather play my cheap warlock than have to play most of anything else I've played. They work fine and gets the job done. So works for me. To me it sounds great, and I constantly play it over my Les Paul.

Agathis is a budget wood which generally translates into inferior sound. But as long as you are happy with it there are no problems.

and to threadstarter, do not get a line 6 spider. trust me, i have one that i keep at me friends house so i dont have to drag my orange over all the time. its awfully digital sounding and has a terrible sound for anything other than metal... and even thats not great either.

I'm still trying to decide. I think I might add the Dean up there, just because I like the way it looks, and I'd like to try it out.

I still don't know which Ibanez I would choose. They both seem like really nice guitars. I wish I could go and check them out, but I don't have a ride to Guitar Center (closest one is in Tallahassee).
