I like jimi hendrix's solo in voodoo child when it was live.
Sooooo sick.
Then Megadeth's holy wars (the third guitar solo in the song)
and maybe sweet child of mine by guns n roses.

What do you think it is

I dont think this one is the greatest but it has a lot of feeling to it. Little wing solo by Jimi Hendrix

^Yeah, it did. And I think like fallen_skater said Megadeth's Holy Wars third solo is good.

The solo at 3:08 has been my favorite for a while. It fits perfectly in every way.

Starts at like 3:03. Amazing solo, lots of Testament songs have great solos.

Theres lots more, but I am too lazy to find them.

Master of Puppets... I love that solo.
Also the intro solo in "One" is fun to play. On real guitar that is.

Its impossible to say a guitar solo that is the "best" of all time but I certainly have favorites.

Under a Glass Moon, Constant Motion and Overture 1928 - All Dream Theater
Downfall - Children of Bodom
The Steve Vai video Skaterdude posted there.
Glasgow Kiss - John Petrucci
Symphony of Destruction - Megadeth
Master of Puppets - Metallica
Number of the Beast - Iron Maiden
Serpent's Kiss and Communion and the Oracle - Both by Symphony X
Arpeggios from Hell - Yngwie Malmsteen

Nice, I see we have a very similar taste of music. I could add a few solos here as well:

Children of Bodom - Kissing the Shadows
Dream Theater - In the name of God
Dream Theater - Stream of Consciousness
Symphony X - Sea of Lies
John Petrucci - Damage Control
Joe Satriani - Always with me, always with you

Practically any David Gilmour and Alex Lifeson solo. Mainly the Comfortably Numb and Working Man soloes.

It's not even possible to say what the greatest ever was.
there are too many styles and what not.
personally for me, it's gotta be Comfortably Numb.
I mean, common.

Not really a solo, but pretty much any of Leo Kottke's stuff is amazing:

Been my favorite for a while.

My girlfriend really digs this, though:

That John Butler song is really good...I learned how to play it a while back. Not as hard as you'd think.

Yeah, I'm probably going to try and learn that Kottke tune, though -- it's one of his slower songs, so I can probably manage it :)

Best guitar solo of all time? Well, I don't think it's the best necessarily, but I think it's got the most passion I've heard. The solo at the end of Let's Go Crazy by Prince.

The solo in paranoid by Black Sabbath is pretty fun to play, and sounds really good.
Or the "one" solo by Metallica.
