I've made a lot of these but i really need this thread. I just learned sultans of swing in 3 days (i already knew the ending solo). The ending solo was challenging because i couldn't do the ending triads. thats the best part of the song. well anyways i need a song that varies a lot so its not boring. i prefer something classic or blues but anything else is fine as long as its not like death metal. Help?

PS= I also learned some of tender surrender by steve vai right before sultans of swing. i learned up to the part where the solo kicks in because the solo was way too hard

try yellow ledbetter by pearl jam. pretty easy song, especially the solo.

EDIT: didn't read the classic or blues part. uhh, try some zeppelin, some of their songs are fairly simple to play.

surfing with the alien - joe satriani
umm
mr crowley - the judas priest version, it has runs all over the place, and a kickass solo.

House of the Rising Sun is a good song to know and it's easy to solo with.

Eh im sticking to Hendrix stuff and i figured out that i play both by ear and tabs (hard to explain). So im gonna learn Voodoo Child Slight Return but its hard to play hendrix by ear. All tabs for Jimi Hendrix suck ass

A triad is three notes, based on a specified root note. For example, an major triad is the first (root), third and fifth notes of the major scale. This is how chords are constructed.

i knew that! hahaha, but what they're picked first third then fifth, not strummed like a chord, right??

slither by velvet revolver is always fun and pretty simple, if not then zeppelin should be alright, thats all easy stuff.
