View Full Version : I feel stupid asking this but what exactally is the "shape" of a board?

I hear you guys say that some boards have good shape and some don't and some lose there shape. I always thought it was how the board was cut out....like my friend has a flip and it is alot wider in the middle of his board than the tail/nose. but i don't see how the board could lose that unless if you were to take a hacksaw to it or something.

yea as far as i no thats wut it is
but like i guess it wears down same as any part of ur board, juss using it cracks it or bends it like the concave or nose or tail

^^well then why do people rate boards saying.
Shape-Good shape takes a little while to get used to
Concave - Pretty steep but i like it
Pop - really good pop

The concave is the side to side steepness, and shape is the overall mold (nose, tail, everything). They're synonymous, but not the same.
