View Full Version : Risers?
how many of you use risers? i ve been skating a while now and was wondering what the risers on the bottom of my board are for? some of my friends say if you dont have risers you get a better pop but apprantly your board is more likly to snap if you dont have them on... and if you use risers what size size would be the best cuz i got 1/4 pads at the moment but i think they might be a bit high

I honestly have found no difference with them on or off. I skated with them on with my last three or four set-ups, and for my current one I took them off, and I don't feel any difference at all.

I've always had really thin ones, i think they help absorb impact and they don't really get in the way.

i use shorty dooks shock pads.
they are better and dont raise your board up at all.

yeah, i have some really thin ones. they dont really absord too much shock, but prevent stress cracks nicely

had them on my first board, now i dont use them.
oh right cool i dunno i might just get some thinner ones in that case i do tend to get a better ollie with them off but i dont want too many pressure cracks

There for big wheels. it prevents them from rubbing against the deck and causing you to get wheel bite. and to absorb some of the impact.

they skate the same for me. get dooks shock pads if you're doing big drops

They take away the impact from big drops and stuff. Also, it prevents wheel bite

They avoid wheel bite, pressure cracks and absorve some of the landing impact.I use dooks, they work really well.

I don't use risers atm because I simply don't have any... is there any good ways to make home made ones? They're not a complicated thing.
