Does reading really make you smarter? Does this mean if I keep reading those "Scary Stories to tell in the Dark" Ill get smarter? How the hell does reading make you smart :p ?!?!

they say reading intruduces new words but i dont care for it i like to look at the front page of a newspaper or read it when my gramp got a US today when we sat and got breakfest at Mcdonalds

New words huh? Ha, whos the retard who came up with that. Like ive never seen the word "it" before :p . Maybe I should take a step up to a big book with words like superphilosphycationacrono, or something like that. Will reading ANY book make you smarter... or am I just wasting my time?
