a bunch of torrent sites that i use for getting my music have forbade access to american users. if this keeps on going, i might just end up needing to pay for music.

on a side note, has anybody here actually gotten in legal trouble for piracy?

I just use piratebay or mininova. Demonoid has always been my mainstay, though they've been down for a few days.

you won't get in trouble, they have other things to worry about like michael vick.

one of my friends got caught for sharing stuff on limewire.
he had to pay for all the songs he got.
it's not really trouble like jail time. just a fine you have to pay off

Meh, not yet.

Limewire started to show signs of faggotry, and stopped working for me, so I stopped using it.

I buy music now.. I like the artwork and shit, fuck bands that only have one slip of paper, that is the cover artwork.

Which is why I'll always buy Tool albums -- they always do crazy things with the packaging.

10,000 Days had some cool artwork in it.

Without a doubt. Even their first couple of albums had cool things. I remember there was a hidden picture under the plastic disc holder on one of the earlier ones...of course, this is before they used clear plastic on the inside of CD cases.

That had the crazy glasses things, right?

Sure did.

I think of Tool as a modern Pink Floyd.

Did the glasses have any purpose other than initiate interesting conversations?

I think they were used with the artwork in the book -- I can't remember if they were 3D glasses or what.

If you can get someone to invite you to OiNK you should, best music site period. I like buying CDs of bands that I support, but I'm usually saving for something else I'd rather have, so I only buy CDs I really want.
