skate the 8. you wont regret it, unless you have small feet. i used to skate only 7.5s, then my deck snapped, and my friend had an old 7.75 and the tail was gone but the nose was fine. he hates skating the noses of boards, so he gave me that, and i was like oooh i like this!! then i found an 8 on sale for like 30 bucks, so i bought that and loved it. now im up at 8.25... lovin it. skate it, and enjoy it.

dude just skate it its not tht big of a diference. i find it loads easier to flip the board when its wider

got-S-K-A-T-E?
08-31-2007, 08:04 PM
^How because isn't it just heavier?

08-31-2007, 08:11 PM
i didnt really read all the posts, so i dont know if anyones said something like this but, i used to skate 7.5-7.62...i got a 7.8 right now and it was one of the best decisions ive made, ive never skated an 8 but bigger boards give you more room for error i guess you could say, because its a lot bigger and that means a lot of a bigger landing space. i mean it will take a few days to get used to, but i just tried to skate a 7.5 and liked my 7.8 a lot more..

got-S-K-A-T-E?
08-31-2007, 08:19 PM
YES! Thats what I was thinking, for like games of skate and stuff, less chance of toe touch, but unfortunatly, thats the only good part I found about getting a really big size.

its official
08-31-2007, 08:23 PM
no you just have to get used to it. id rather skate bigger decks than smaller decks anyday...why do you think big decks are bad?

got-S-K-A-T-E?
08-31-2007, 08:25 PM
Because i like flip tricks alot, and i have small feet i guess.

its official
08-31-2007, 08:42 PM
like i said it will take a few days to get used to, but thats the same with everyone, when i first skated my 7.8 it was a little more difficult to do flip tricks, but after like a week its sooo easy.now again ive never skated an 8 so im not sure about that, but i imagine its the same the same concepts

got-S-K-A-T-E?
08-31-2007, 08:44 PM
I guess so, I mean I got an element helium that was 7.88 and was like fuck! but it was fine after a few sessions, but still this is really big compared to what i have skated on before, so idk.

Alright here..
I usually skate a 7.6-7.75, but I needed a loaner board cause I couldnt get to my house where my board was and we where going to the skatepark. I borrowed my Friends 8.25 Alva Board, it was ackward as hell at first, but you will get used to the size difference. Just put more force into your flick and stuff and you should be fine. I got used to it within 45 minutes of continuous skating.

...or you could try and hardflip and 10 set and break it then, tottaly skipping the 'getting used to it' part.

haha.

watch your gonna learn tricks on this board.

go back to a smaller board.

all your fliptricks will spin twice as fast.
and you'll wanna go back to 8.

Well. It happened to me. then I grew and my feet are noe 11 so I skate 8's perfectly.

id say deal with it, leo romero has a 9.5 size shoe and he skates an a 8 (im not obsessed, i read it in a tws)

or if u just cant deal with it, break it by the tail so it would look like a valid defect (since thats what it's supposed to help against) and get a new one sent to you
