How can you tell if a deck is for street or vert? I am looking to try a larger deck (+8") for street, but almost all the sites I've went on say that most decks over 8" are for vert or ramps. I know it will be more difficult to do tricks with a larger deck, but I just can't seem to land perfectly with a skinner deck, so I'm moving up in size. I wanted to try one of the alive series decks by black label, but I don't know if this is a vert deck or not. If anyone has any info on the topic please let me know.

the width is all preference, vert decks usually have a big tail, but you shld be good with the black label

If you street skate, 7.5 is usually better because your flip tricks will be better, and you have more stability on flat ground. 8.0 and up is better for vert because it gives you much more stability on ramps, bowls etc. It doesn't really matter though. My friend skates an 8.0 and he skates only street.

There is no such thing as a 'street deck' or a 'vert deck' exept for the width. 8 inch should be fine for street, if that doesn't suit get a 7.8 deck. And as has been said ask the guy at your local store

Don't let a website tell you what to skate, whichever one feels comfortble ,is the one you should skate.
