i dont own a shop but my suggestion is carry alot of bam margera stuff because at my local shop at christimas they sold over 100 bam boards 300 different bam shoes or well carry bam everything also have a big collection of shoes and decks thats what people are after mostly and make sure it is in a area close to a skatepark, highway, etc. If they are building a local park in a few months open a shop in the park that is where most of the money is made because kids who snap decks can go right into the shop and buy another deck

DGK would be a good deck company for that style, but also carry lots of other decks that arent urban. You probally are gonna want some fallen shoes there too, because lots of people wear those around here. Around here, the most bought things are probally alien workshops, bakers, and elements. Also, lots of people use venture trucks. My info probally isnt helpful, but hopefully youll get a little use out of it.

just stock as many brands as you can, and make sure u have a wide range of products so theres something for everyone.
Setup a couch and a big ass tv so skaters can come in and chill and watch a skate video. Try and make it a really friendly enviroment for people to come, word will spread about your shop that way aswell so once you start making money stock more things and upgrade your shop.
Hope i helped and goodluck starting a shop. Dont give up, if you wanna do it go for it.

Try and get the biggest variety of brands/products you can, I hate when i go to a shop and they only have one brand of shoe or something... and definitly have a tv, so kids could come and chill and watch a skate video or something
If you really wanna be cool, Setup Guitar Hero..
That would F*cking own!

if you want to make more money, then try to appeal to the latest "trends" stock in nikes, kr3w stuff, supras. baker boards, bam stuff. you wont hav the best like actual "skate shop" but you will definatley make money off of the trendy items. if you want to be true to skaters, then stock up on stuff that GOOD skaters use, have tools and items that a good skater would use, you know, not the flashy expensive trendy stuff, but skater friendly things. and you have to have a TV with the latest skate videos for sale, that way kids can come in, and chill out!

Alright heres my advice considering my best friends dad owns are local shop. Which happens to be the biggest piece of shit ever. They let kids come in and skate, there glass cases have been broken at least 10 times there holes in the walls from kids shooting out. His dad doesnt take the money and put it back into the shop he puts it into buying weed. He also waits till he has about 5 decks on the shelfs to get a new shipment. Oh and his son is always just stomping the boards and going right back into the shop to grab another deck at no cost, the kid seriously goes through 4 decks a week. They also have no clothing or shoes. alright thats everything not to do. As for this dont sponsor kids who you think are decent they gotta be good and willing to be a bilboard pretty much, Have a wide variety and keep in stock. The bigger the variety more people will come keep it chill almost like a chill pad you know light incense set up a couch for the kids to chill out. yeah thats all i got. Oh yeah make sure what you make in the skate shop goes back into the skateshop so you keep growing. Maybe once you make enough money you can start a franchise.

Make sure you hire staff that know how to skateboard. This way they can help customers out. At my place its all these girls and you ask could I have a habitat deck and they say whats that.

When you have the grand opening of you're store, hire strippers and get them hooked.
Edit: 'Them' as in the customer.
