I went to my skate shop and got a habitat bamboo deck. It's really great. The pop is nice, I like the size, and it slides well. I'm not sure about how it will wear, but I like it right now.

Um I think you say'd isn't it made out of Bamboo.
And in fact.
"Following the success of our Hemp Ply comes Habitat Bamboo Ply. The deck is a blend of both Canadian Maple and Bamboo. This construction is more ecologically sound then a traditional 100% Maple skateboard. Bamboo makes up 15% of the deck using less Maple wood and utilizes the incredible growth rate of farm raised Bamboo. Habitat Bamboo Ply Construction utilizes the natural characteristics of both woods. Bamboo is light and resilient while Maple has a proven record for strength. All Habitat Bamboo Ply decks have a dark natural stained top with the official Bamboo Plywood burn." - Habitat News

Hmm if it is true it might cost too much to do. Plus boards need a bit of give.
