Element has announced that they will be making a new series and construction of skateboards called "Featherlight Helium". Basically, the boards will have holes cut out in between the glued-together layers. Though apparntly its not filled with helium, it does reduce weight, and Element claims the construction actually makes the boards stronger.
Defenitly going to be intresting to hear how these things ride when they come out. Element has always made some pretty sweet boards, their Featherlights were a fair bit lighter, I love their Fiberlights... If the trend continues, these boards should be nuts! Check out this article regarding that news.
Eh, we'll see. I've had bad experiences with their boards. I'd wait until I heard something from someone who's actually skated it. Holes in the wood doesn't sound good at all.
'll bet anyone $50 that one of my friend can break that board in less then a week just by skating it. Holes in the board, pshaw, like that shits gonna stand up to a 6+ stair, Bullshit.
hmmm ill find out how good they are off this site but that sounds intersting i dont see how making wholes in the deck can make it stronger but hey we will see.
Wow... JUST WOW...
I have always loved Element, when I get anough money, I usually get one, I love their Fibrelights!
But...
This thing just seems a tad bit too "fancy" or complicated.
Still, I'd love to try one out.
Sounds good. I guess we'll have to wait to see just how big the holes are. Funny thing, I saw I guy at the local park with huge holes in his board. Like inch-wide. I mean it looked like he took a giant holepuncher to his deck. Anyway, I want to see this when it comes out. I discovered today that me plus light decks equals higher ollies and stuff.
sounds stupid because the boards will be weak and their fiberlights are more expensive than regular decks so these new decks will probably cost even more
I've had one of their boards before, and it was good. These sound interesting, espically with the holes in the wood. I don't see how this makes it stronger though. I can't wait to try one.
