April 2008 FMOTM: WhiteTrash!
By BobbyGanoosh at 2008-05-05 20:10

Let's start with the basics: Name, Age, where you're from (feel free to not answer anything you're not comfortable to answer).
haha sounds good man.
Name- Tommy Armour
Age - newly 20
From - Sydney, NSW, Australia

For everyone who isn't Australian, what's it like down under?
Ahh it's a great place, theres always the stereotype of people with Steve Irwin type accents and that we live in the outback with kangaroos hopping around and what not. It's nothing like that, I've only ever seen Kangaroos at the zoo. Apart from that I'm from Sydney Australia which I personally think is the best place to be in Australia and it holds a few famous skate spots that many Americans would see in skate videos such as Martin Places The Pit, Cook and Phil where chima kickflipped the huge set and many more. The city is rad for skating, it has some awesome beaches and mostly laid back people so I really can't say enough good stuff about Australia.

Have you ever met any pros/ams/famous people there?
Yes it was pretty rad to meet Jamie Thomas who I've been a fan of since I started skating at like 14-15 and had always looked upto him. I've skated and filmed with Richie Jackson a few times and that guy is awesome. Usually when teams come out here and do demos in Sydney I'd go and meet a fair few of the skaters there. For famous people not that much but you can see some local celebritys around there and there.

Richie Jackson?! Now, that guy's creative. Is that the type of skating you're into?
Yeah man he's amazing and I love watching the kind of shit he does and I love the creative side of skating more then anything. Myself though, I don't stick to just that kind of skating and to be honest I'm not that good at all that crazy stuff haha but I like to keep an open mind and pretty much skate whatever I feel like and what I find fun to me.

So if you were to label yourself as a ____ skater. What would be in the blank?
I'd say a normal street skater.

So you're twenty years old and probably have a lot of experience in skating, ever tried for a sponsor?
To be honest I've never really thought too much into it, I mean for the time I've been skating I'm in no way as good as I could be but I think that just comes down to I don't skate every day anymore, and also I don't push myself to my absolute limits when I do skate, I am 100% just in it for the fun and doing it with my friends and learning the tricks I want to learn which interest me. Don't get me wrong though, If I felt my skills were up there I wouldn't hesitate to try for a sponsor.

Top Five:

Reasons to live in Australia:
1. The people, they are laid back and mostly great.
2. Great sites, beautiful places.
3. Plenty of opportunities to live a life you dream of
4. Sick city for skating and awesome beaches in summer time
5. Aussie girls are the hottest girls in the world ;)

Foods:
1. Kfc twisters
2. Local burger shop
3. Certain fruits are kick ass like watermelon or grapes
4. Ribs
5. Sizzler

Skaters:
1. Jamie Thomas
2. John Rattray
3. Mark Appleyard
4. Tom Penny
5. Chad Muska

Things about you (this is your chance to be arrogant!):
1. Australian
2. Athletic
3. great haircut ;)
4. easy going
5. King of the night time world.

Right, so on a different note, what do you like to do for fun?
Fun to me is pretty much hangen out with the guys I grew up with, and the guys I got into skating with, Friday and saturday nights I like going out to parties or whatever, saturday day I like to spend skating most the day, and on weekdays I like to try to keep myself fit as my area of work is Personal Training. Also I'm into art in a way and I like skate art.

Skate art?
Yeah haha I just call it that, the art side of skating like the designs on decks, logos and shit, the creative photographs and backgrounds and whatnot.

Think you have a future in it?
haha hmm honestly not, but I think it will remain with me and aslong as I keep enjoying it, then everything is good.

Do you have a career in mind?
As of now I'm going down the road of a fitness career, as I've got a few certificates in Fitness, so Personal training is currently what I'm doing part time, and also I'm going to America in June to work for a few months at a summer camp.

WhiteTrash coming to america?! Nice! What kind of camp?
hahaha yes I am invading Pennsylvania and will be stopping off at L.A and New York city aswell. It's basicly just a normal summer camp with normal activities throughout the day such athletics, games, arts and craft and stuff like that. It should be a good experience, and I get free food and housing and paid to do it so I'm looking forward to it, especially the days off where I'll be able to enjoy whats around me.

I bet you wish it was football season! Explain how you fell in love with the New York Giants.
Ohh yeah defintley, If It was I would have to had gone to a game, I was about 13 or 14 years old and I just rented out a Madden game on playstation haha, and I always liked New York so I picked the Giants as my team and then I started actually watching the games on Fox and for the past few years I've been really into each season and was waiting for the Giants to win a superbowl and god that was a great feeling when they did this year haha

Last Words.

A good quote I've heard, "Success, what's success? Success is getting up in the morning, going to bed at night and doing what you want in between". That's the life I want to live. I also thank all the people who voted for me and a special shout out to the Aussie crew on sb-c, (love you ash and joe) ;)
