The (Fantastic) 4 Skateboard Company

It’s pretty much a known fact that the internet has been a double edged sword for the skateboard media, especially for video. Unfortunately there are so many videos uploaded every day that it is very difficult to really stand out now. The level of skating is so amazing these days that even an amazing part online has a high risk of getting forgotten, because of the insane amount of videos uploaded. On the positive note it is possible for companies to showcase their riders on a cheaper and more accessible way for everyone. I go on to HellaClips almost everyday and I always find some really good skateboarding and every once in a while I find some shit that just stoked the fuck out of me.Sometimes though it is quite hard to stumble upon these great videos because there is just so much posted everyday and I don’t really have time to look at every single video posted. Luckily for me though, I stumbled upon this gem a few weeks a go. Something which I immediately posted here, so you guys might have seen this already.

Insane, right?! Well this fucking masterpiece was created by The 4 Skateboard Company. These guys are a company sick from Australia with some very unique skaters that clearly represent the “quality over quantity” type of skateboarding. They also have some very sick graphics and overall their product looks fucking sick. (Check it all out here http://the4skateboardcompany.com/catalogue/)

Now, there are tons of companies which I really dig, and skateboard citythat number grows every day, but there are very few companies that I actually go out of my way to get their product, this being one of them.

I was looking through their catalog and I saw that they had come out with a full video on December of 2010 called “The Perfect Amount of Lazy”. Immediately I started looking for it everywhere on line and couldn’t find it. So, I decided to contact them directly so I could get a copy of the video and maybe even for a deck since they are so fucking sick. I contacted them and got an answer quite quickly saying that didn’t usually ship to Guatemala but that they would see what they could do for me. They hit me back up with prices for shipping and such and the deck was quite a bit expensive to ship so I went for the DVD. These guys are so awesome that they even burned the web clip seen above for me.

Point of the story? Support these guys! Especially if you are from Australia, if not talk to them and see if you can work something with them. Not only do they sponsor insane skateboarders, come out with a bunch of webclips, are a company with lots of flavor (for lack of a better word,) with very sick and unique graphics. But they are just a bunch of skate rats who enjoy what they do and will gladly go out of their way to make sure you are stoked on them. I mean, does an Australian company really need to go out of their way to find costs and ship a single DVD to some Guatemalan? No, but they sure as hell didn’t mind doing it.
In the words of Brett, the 4 employee whom I talked to all this time : “We do this because we like it & it’s great to know that people across the globe feel the same way.”

All hail The (fantastic) 4 Skateboard company!
